Little People

I don't usually take the kids out to lunch by myself.  I am typically accompanied by Mabel but  she dropped us off and had to run some errands. It was just me and the kids.  I sat in front of the two of them and at first tried to be cool and make some good conversation while we ate our lunch.  Then I decided to just sit back and watch the two of them.   I suddenly found myself pulling out the camera. I suppose in hopes of remembering this moment forever.  A moment that I looked at the both of them so proudly, and so happy to be their Mami, and have this opportunity to watch as my babies grow into little people.

Pilar Adriana Delellis

I just love hearing Pili say my name, probably because it's one of the very few words that she says in English.   So I got it on tape a few times along with everyone else's name.   The last few months we have seen a growing similarity between Pili and her cousin Claire (who is now 8).  Her expressions, personality, and even looks remind us of Claire-bear.   Pili (in the video)even claims she is 8-OCHO like her cousin Claire. haha

Thumbs up to Arapey!

Magician Rey Ben

Bingo - Matias went back and forth from me to Mabel cause he wanted to be with the winner. Good thing he stuck it out with me.... CAUSE WE WON!

Interesting bike ride. Everything was going great until I was speeding down a hill and realized my bike had no breaks! SCAREY. I was able to curve off on the grass and do a few loops to stop and Pili and I survived. Nico and Matias didn't seem worried and couldn't seem to stop laughing. I insisted we switch bikes!

La Familia

Pilar and Pedro should their paths meet again I wouldn't mind, I'd love some curly headed grandchildren.

Good times with Abi

bye bye lizard

Summer Vacation -2

HORSES
Pili is petrified of animals (very much like her mother) but she saddled up with no problem at all :)

I didn't want to miss out seeing the home of a recently deceased Indian woman so I hid my fear and made buddies with Morenita and fortunately had a nice ride through the valley.

NAPS- we got one every day

A full moon-
Jorge and Nico were inspired to pull out THE telescope (a christmas gift for Mati from the two of them) I agree; THEY ARE NUTS!!

Fishing

Speaking of fish check out this fishbone that got stuck in the side of Nico's throat. Florencia had to pull it out with tweezers. ay ay ay

Summer Vacation

No better way to start the new year (for us) than a 2 week trip to our favorite vacation spot: Las Termas de Arapey, Uruguay.
You've seen the pics before and probably heard my spell but it's truely an amazing little town of about 300 people in the middle of no where. The termas/hot springs were discovered in the early 1900's and this resort was built about 15 years ago utilizing the springs which appear as typical swimming pools.

CLOSE UP

I love that the resort is rather small (around 250 guest at it's max) and has a very intimate feel. The employees have hardly changed in two years; Valeria (below) being one of them who does an amazing job with the kids. We pretty much lost Matias the first week to the kids club

2nd week he hooked up with some older kids and hung out in the Wii room, it was impossible for Valeria and the other chicas to get him to participate in their activities.

Pedro one of Mati's wii buddies

Before I go any further I have to mention the 2 highlights of the trip
1 - Mati learned to swim! My Mati does not like water. He has never been fond of swimming or even bathing. I was determined that this trip he would learn to swim no matter if I had to dunk him everyday. A miracle occurred on day 2 and Mati decided himself that he was ready to swim and by himself started swimming. He was in water where he could touch and everyday he got better and better and by the end of the trip he was doing handstands, flips, and cannonballs like it was nothing. What a relief!
Pili I believe was part of his inspiration. She is fearless and was doing cannonballs from the getgo! Oh and also Abuelo Jorge's idea to buy the kids goggles was another huge motivator.

2- The Gigantic lizards! Quite creepy but we were fascinated by them and were always on the look out for their appearances. Our first encounter was preTTy interesting.....Lizard vs Human.
